Universal Pushes Back New DOOM Adaptation But Fear Not! This is a Good Thing!
Published on January 25, 2019 By Jonathan Barkan

Dread Central has heard that Universal 1440, the home video department of Universal Pictures, has delayed the release of their new Doom adaptation to an unspecified Fall 2019 window. However, this news is for good reasons as we’re being told that the studio has seen the film and has very positive feelings about it. So much so, in fact, that they’ve given the filmmakers more time to work on the VFX, including updating a sequence set in Hell. The goal is to “use a broader VFX brush to really make Hell awesome” and for Universal to make it “more fantastic”.

While the, “…action and story of the Hell sequence is NOT changing,” they are, “…enhancing the location and doing some pick-up photography that supports the original vision of the scene.”

I think we can all agree that anyone wanting to enhance a sequence set in Hell has our stamp of approval!

As we’ve previously mentioned, Doom was written and directed by Tony Giglio (Timber Falls, Extraction, Chaos) and stars Amy Manson, Nina Bergman, Louis Mandylor, Dominic Mafham, Luke Allen-Gale, Hari Dhillon, and Lorina Kamburova. Autonomous FX are handling the special effects, makeup, and demon design, so get ready to see some grotesque creations.

Doom was first adapted into a film in 2005 in a feature starring Karl Urban and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Below are some images from the set of the upcoming Doom adaptation.

Sono sempre molto scettico su questi adattamenti, spero che ne venga fuori qualcosa di buono e non una trashata.
